What People Power Looks Like

Dearest Reader,


I have always had deep sentiment and compassion for the collective and for my native Africa. I daily thank Nyasaye Nyakalaga (as my ancestors call God) for birthing me in Nairobi, Kenya. It’s possibly the part of me that I am most proud of. What I love most about being Kenyan is how ethically righteous Kenyans are. Despite our follies, we the people, apart from political manipulation, often do the right thing and set the right example. I suppose because we are somewhat humble, we don’t shout it out enough. So as a Kenyan raised in New York City, allow me to to play my horn for Kenya and remind my American friends/the world, what democracy looks like.
